This classic Sharon Stone slasher sex flick is a thrill a minute movie that still makes us a little weak at the knees. While the grainy scenes and dated production put this movie firmly in the 90s, we think it deserves a top spot in our list of flesh flick favourites. In Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone plays Catherine Tramell – a crime novelist with a taste for drama, seduction and seriously short skirts. When she’s linked to the murder of a rock star, detective Nick Curran (Michael Douglas) steps in to get the dirt. However, her long lithe legs, red lippie and girl-on-girl action on the dance floor dissolve his resistance, as he succumbs to an intense relationship with his number on suspect. We can’t help but be smitten by Sharon Stone at her bombshell best, plus a young Michael Douglas adds a little extra delight.
Ghost (1990)
After the release of this sexy crime thriller, audiences the world over invested in clay making classes and oversized boyfriend tees. Ghost delivers a thrilling story line, but it also delivers one of the most intense one-screen scenes to hit theatres in the 90s. A young Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in his prime make this movie a must see. The movie documents the lives of Sam (Swayze) and Molly (Moore), and her journey to discover who is behind his murder, with his post-humous help. Set to Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, this scene gets second spot on our list of sexy must sees.
Titanic (1996)
Back in the day when Leo was but a budding actor with a head of hair that inspired envy in the most confident of us, he paired up with Kate Winslet to bring us arguably the biggest movie of the 90s. Both actors delivered some of the hottest scenes of their careers, with Kate Winslet beginning their dalliance with a simple request that the aspiring artist "paint me like one of your French girls.' The rest is movie history.
Bitter Moon (1992)
Starring mild mannered gentleman Hugh Grant, this movie explores themes of bondage, fetish and control. It centres around a respectable couple (Hugh Grant and Kristin Scott Thomas) and their meeting with couple Oscar and Mimi - a couple who push the boundaries when it comes to sex, fidelity and sado masochism. This movie explores bdsm in a way that audiences weren't quite familiar with in the 90s and stands it ground with a bold approach to some taboo topics.
Colour of the Night (1994)
Colour of the Night stars Bruce Willis as a colour blind psychiatrist that becomes involved in a series of graphic trysts with a mysterious young woman. While this movie won a Raspberry Award for the worst film of 1994, it quickly become one of the most rented movies in the United States. Maxim also hailed the movie as having the Best Sex Scene in Film history. And for that, we add it to our list unapologetically!
